We use only a handful of high-quality local producers for all our meat, poultry and fish.
Beef & lamb
Our beef and lamb comes from a local butcher just outside Pocklington who sources from a farmer at Newton – Upon – Derwent. The locality of this stock means that between us and the butcher, the meat travels no further than 10 miles from where it was sustainably reared.
Rare breed pork
Our pork is all rare breed Gloucester Old Spot from Rare Breed Specialists Taste Tradition of Thirsk. The Ashbridge family have been supplying The Balloon Tree with high-quality meats for many years. Over that time, we have built a fantastic relationship with this supplier which ultimately brings an excellent finished product to our customers.
Chicken
We use two main poultry suppliers. Soanes – which are Great Taste Award Winners. Their grain-fed chickens are a Sunday Roast staple for Balloon Tree customers, and Loose Birds from Harome take free-range to a whole new level and produce a premium product that reflects their high standards and values of poultry production.
Fish
Ramus seafoods are members of sustainable seafood coalition and really care about the products they produce. The fish we receive in store is always as fresh as it could possibly be, and they always endeavour to bring new and fresh offerings to keep up the interest for our customers.

Although we stock a wide selection of meat and fish, if there is a more obscure cut you are interested in we can ask our expert suppliers and chances are we will be able to get it into store within a matter of days, if not next day!
